Will Tanning Help with Treating Hives?

Will Tanning Help with Treating Hives? There is no medical evidence that tanning helps to diminish the development or helps with the treatment of hives. However, many people claim that it is a very effective treatment for them. In some instances, it is believed that the various moisturizers and tanning lotions the person is using contains some ingredient that helps clear up the hives. It is likely they developed in the first place because of something missing.

There is some indication that individuals who don’t get enough Vitamin D from the foods they consume may get hives because they are lacking essential nutrients. Since tanning helps the body to increase the amount of Vitamin D it produces, the hives may deminish as the tanning sessions continue.

Many people find that tanning helps them to reduce their levels of stress and many hives are the result of the body having too much stress. It is a natural coping mechanism. I know one individual who went to several doctors and allergy specialists to find out why she had hives. All it took was one month of tanning for her to start relaxing more and the hives went away on their own.

The body produces serotonin and endorphins when it feels good. For many people, tanning helps them feel better mentally and they feel better about their bodies in general. With the increased amounts of serotonin and endorphins the body may be able to fight off depression and have the strength to prevent hives from occurring.

There is still a great deal of research that has to be done to verify if tanning is an effective treatment for hives or not. It appears to be a case by case basis right now. Some people feel there is no connection and others won’t ever give up tanning because they fear the hives will return.
